Would I interpret a play differently?

We were asked to read the play that will be teaching before enter the lecture or tutorial. While reading the play, I would try to interpret the play in order to understand it. However, my interpretations were slightly different from my lecturer’s explanation. This is because I always interpret briefly without concern about some certain criteria such as the language, choice of words or symbol in the play. After my lecturer explained, I could understand better because his explanation was very in detail.

On the other hand, my tutor gave us a lot of activities that help me in understanding a play. In the activities, it made me to think and analyse it. The ways she taught had inspired me to think deeply and that had help me in doing my own interpretation of a play.
